Safer at Home Order Allows Reopening of Low-Risk Locations

Effective May 13, the County of Los Angeles has extended the “Safer at Home” Order that allows low-risk businesses, select recreational facilities and beaches to reopen. All businesses that are permitted to open under the revised health order must practice physical distancing and adhere to infection control guidelines. This includes frequent hand washing, wearing a face covering, and eliminating the touching of eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Please note that specific higher-risk businesses remain closed. Public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household or living unit remain prohibited. Remember, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, and how soon and how fast the rest of our City reopens will depend on the rate of infections. As we gradually continue on the road to recovery, it is important to note that the best protection against COVID-19 is to remain at home whenever possible and to limit non-essential trips.

We understand that residents and stakeholders have questions regarding how to continue to conduct business with the City, in light of this action. To review the services offered by the City during this pandemic, please click here.
