THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD AND TEMPLE SHERIFF’S STATION ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY ACADEMY 2018!

The City of Rosemead and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Temple Station, are hosting a Community Academy. Community members will have the opportunity to learn more about their local law enforcement agency. This Academy is a 7-week program, with classes taking place each Wednesday, from September 19 through November 7, 2018. The final session will be a graduation ceremony.

The topics for the 6-week academy training include a presentation by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, a tour of the Twin Towers Custody Facility, patrol/sheriff traffic procedures, a patrol ride-a-long, graffiti/gang awareness, and drug awareness.

The Community Academy is an example of Temple Station’s continued efforts to improve its relationship with the community and to educate community members on law enforcement matters and procedures.

In addition, participants will get a chance to learn about the City of Rosemead’s governmental functions. There will be a different topic presented each week and those who attend will have a deeper understanding and respect for the topics presented.

For more information or to apply, please contact Mandy Wong, Public Safety Supervisor at (626) 569-2168.

Applications will not be accepted after September 13, 2018 at 6:00 pm. All applications will be screened and approved by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The program is being presented free of charge and 25 participants will be accepted.
