Covid-19 Update

Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health revised the Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19 Order and provided the following updates:

  • Beginning September 2, 2020, hair salons and barbershops may reopen for indoor operations at 25% of the salon or shop’s maximum occupancy and with required modifications. As permitted by the State, operators are encouraged to continue providing as many services as possible outdoors.
  • Beginning September 14, 2020, K-12 schools may offer in-school services for a small, stable cohort of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or English Learners (Els) needing assessments and/or specialized in-school services, with priority given to students with disabilities.

Effective Friday, September 4, 2020, until Tuesday, September 8, 2020, the City of Rosemead City Parks’ parking lots will be closed to the public.  The City recognizes that many of you may be experiencing concerns regarding COVID-19. Again, this action intends to avoid the spread of COVID-19 by having people remain safer at home while enabling only essential services to continue. When people need to leave their place of residence to obtain or perform vital services or to conduct activities necessary for continuity of social and commercial life, they must maintain a distance of at least six feet from other persons and always wear a face covering. Failure to comply with the provisions of this action constitutes a threat to public health and is a crime and punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.

While we continue to make progress, it’s important to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is still active. Residents, business owners, and employees must observe physical distancing requirements and prevention techniques outlined under the “Reopening Safer at Work and in the Community for Control of COVID-19” Order.
