Rosemead Appoints Michael Chung as the New Director of Public Works

 

City Manager Gloria Molleda is pleased to announce and welcome Michael Chung as the new Director of Public Works for Rosemead.

Michael comes to Rosemead following over 15 years of hands-on engineering experience delivering complex infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Michael recently served as the Senior Civil Engineer in the Port of Long Beach – Engineering Design Division. With his extensive background and experience in engineering, Michael has held management roles in several organizations in both private and public sectors, and thrives in a team environment. Michael’s extensive experience includes a broad range of engineering disciplines including: land development, traffic, roadway, pavement, railroad, flood control, and water & sewer systems.

“It is my sincere pleasure and honor to join the City of Rosemead team and serve as the new Director of Public Works,” Michael said. “I am excited to serve the citizens of Rosemead and enhance their quality of life by improving the City’s infrastructure and delivering high quality public works services.”

In his new role, Michael will oversee the Public Works Department as they work to meet the objectives of the City of Rosemead’s Community. His first day in Rosemead will be October 4th and will be formally be introduced at the October 12th City Council meeting.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California Irvine and holds a Professional Engineer License from the State of California. Michael is also a product of Rosemead’s education system and is a current resident. He is happily married to his wife Elizabeth and has two children, Bronson (2 years), and Eli (9 months).
