RAIN ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND

CITY OF ROSEMEAD

The Rosemead Public Safety Department is continuing to monitor a low-pressure system expected Friday through Monday, bringing the potential for significant rain, gusty winds, and chance of scattered thunderstorms. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and take necessary precautions. Here are essential tips to navigate through the rain:

  1. Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates from the National Weather Service at https://www.weather.gov/
  2. Home Preparations: Secure loose items, check roof and gutters, and secure proper drainage to prevent flooding.
  3. Travel Safely: Avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain. If you must go out, drive cautiously and be aware of road conditions.
  4. Sandbags: If your area is prone to flooding, you can obtain sand and sandbags on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fire Station 44 (enter on Oak Avenue) 1105 South Highland Avenue, Duarte, CA 91010. Properly place the sandbags to redirect water.
  5. Emergency Kit: Prepare an emergency kit with essentials to include water, non-perishable food, flashlights, and first aid supplies.
