E-Waste

E-WasteState E-Waste Regulations

The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) is responsible for issuing regulations that apply to E-Waste.

What is E-waste?

The term “e-waste” is applied to consumer electronic equipment that is no longer wanted including computers, printers, televisions, VCR's, cell phones, fax machines, stereos, electronic games, and dry-cell batteries.

Electronics may contain lead, copper, and other heavy metals or other potentially toxic substances. That's why it is critical to reduce e-waste by only buying what is needed, reusing electronics that still work, and recycling electronics at the end of their useful life.

City E-Waste Recycling

The City hosts a semi-annual community recycling event providing paper shredding services, electronic waste collection, and compost giveaway.

Curbside Household Batteries Collection

Residents may place household batteries in ziplock plastic baggies on top of the recycling cart for collection.
