City of Rosemead Names New Assistant City Manager – Bryan Ortega Chua
The City of Rosemead is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Ortega Chua as its new Assistant City Manager.
Bryan previously held the position of Director of Finance for the City for the past 2 and a half years and has demonstrated exceptional performance during his time in Rosemead. He has over 17 years of experience in local government, with an extensive background in Finance. Previously, Bryan has held positions as an Auditor for Contra Costa County, and he has held positions as an Accountant, Accountant/Auditor, Senior Budget Analyst, and Budget Manager for the City of Fairfield.
“I want to first thank City Manager Ben Kim for this opportunity and am deeply honored to serve Rosemead in this capacity and look forward to continuing to work closely with City Manager Ben Kim, the City Council, the executive team, city staff, residents, and stakeholders,” said Bryan. “I believe that together we will continue to build on the City’s strong foundation and look forward to helping shape Rosemead’s future.”
As Assistant City Manager, Bryan will oversee several key departments, including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Administration. Bryan will play a critical role in managing the City’s financial health, including overseeing budget development, long-term financial planning, investments, and ensuring fiscal accountability and sustainability across all operations. Additionally, Bryan will lead efforts in Human Resources to enhance employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and professional development, ensuring a dynamic and motivated workforce. In Information Technology, Bryan will spearhead initiatives to modernize the City’s digital infrastructure, improve cybersecurity measures, and leverage innovative technologies to optimize service delivery.
Bryan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting and Economics from California State University of Los Angeles. He is happily married to his wife Diana and has a son, Clark. He enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family.
